When I was in 7th grade my dream of getting a gift on Valentine’s Day came true. While I was sitting bored at home my boyfriend texted me telling me he had something for me and wanted to run it by the house. Although I was upset he would not be staying I was so excited to finally receive my first valentine gift. There was only one problem; I didn’t have anything for him. While he was on his way I made him a nice, sweet card telling him how special he was to me. When he arrived we exchanged gifts and he was on his way. He had bought me a card and some candy suckers that had heartfelt notes on them. Although it wasn’t much it still meant a lot to me.

Who can say they don’t love to kiss someone in a park? Or just hug someone and never let go? Everyone loves to have a significant other or maybe keep it casual and steal a few kisses here and there. Everyone wants love. They can say they don’t but it’s a lie. This is what makes Valentine’s Day crucial. If you don’t at least get a card from your crush you might as well forget having a date on Prom night. It is probably the worst feeling you can get when you’re beloved doesn’t love you back. I have some really sweet memories from this day, too, though. In fifth grade I got my first ever Valentine’s Day gift from a boy. His name was Tristan and we went to White Oak in Morris. He somehow figured out how to get into my locker and left a few surprises for me. The first thing I say was a giant stuffed dog with chocolates on my top shelf. When I looked closer I could see a necklace on the dog. My favorite animal is a dolphin and of course that’s what it was. Tristan saw my excitement and he helped me put the necklace on. I never kissed him but I held his hand as if it was gold. I’ll never forget my first Valentine’s Day gift. I no longer know the boy of course because I’ve moved away. But last year when I was alone it made me smile to think about this. I really hope no one is alone this year. Even if it’s nothing serious it’s nice to at least know someone wishes you well.

Valentine’s Day is coming up soon! Do you and your honey have any special plans?? If not you should check out Amanda Angus’ article on what to do on Valentine’s Day. Usually on Valentine’s Day the boyfriend or girlfriend goes all out to please their special someone. I got a chance to interview some people and find out what happened last year on their special day.
Rebecca P, a good friend of mine and I were sitting down and talking about what she and her boyfriend were going to do for V day this year. She was telling me about the “super cute” V day she had last year. Last year her and her boyfriend went out to eat and then saw the movie Valentine’s Day. She was getting a tad irritated because she really wanted him to ask her. She was trying to drop hints all night but he just wasn’t picking them up! Or so she thought… After the movie they drove to Cold Stone and got some ice cream. While eating their ice cream her boyfriend stands up hands her a sharpie and takes off his hoody exposing his shirt. On his shirt he had a check yes or no box asking if she wanted to be his valentine! Of course she checked yes and just like in the movies the whole cold stone awed in unison and they shared a kiss! How cute! They just celebrated their 2 year and are better than ever! I can’t wait to hear what they do this valentine’s day!
I thought that since Rebecca had such a good Valentine’s Day story I would ask another friend of mine. Cassie S and her boyfriend Jacob of a year now also had a cute valentine’s day last year. Cassie and her boyfriend live in New York and had what I would call a perfect valentine’s day! Last year Jacob and Cassie had a fairy tale V day. The night started off with of course a romantic dinner and some light chatting. They took a walk after dinner and walked by the pier. After walking by the pier Jacob set up a horse and carriage ride to surprise Cassie. From what Cassie told me the horse was beautiful! And the surprise took her breath away! In the carriage there were white roses waiting for her and a shiny blue box. Every girl knows where the blue box is from. Cassie was eyeing a cute tiffany bracelet and Jacob got it for her they took a ride in the carriage and had a perfect time! They shared a romantic kiss just as the snow was falling. It sounds pretty much perfect, until it started snowing like crazy and they had to run back to the car! Either way they had a good time! I wonder how Jacob is going to top this year’s!
