Do you like music? Do you like hearing the sweet music of a symphonic band or the lovely trombone from the orchestra followed by angel voices from the chorus? Then you should have gone to the Orchestra Winter Concert! Like Mr. Lipari had said “it was the first time we had the band & orchestra AND the
choruses play together, it was GREAT!” Like most people Mr. Lipari wasn’t the only one who was thrilled with the results, the people loved it, and they sounded great altogether. This event took place in the auditorium at JCHS December 4. They played great music like Go Tell it on the Mountain, Christmas Day, Carol of the Bells, Jingle Bells Hoedown, Christmas Bassoon Fantasia, Lo! How a rose E’er Blooming & much more. Also the Big Band performed, along with Percussion Ensemble & Symphony
Orchestra. They were directed by Michael Fiske, Director of Bands David Jones, Director of Choirs, Peter Lipari, Director of Orchestra. If you ask me, I think they did a great job. I didn’t actually go to see them live but I did get a chance to get my hands on a DVD which was recorded on. It was as if I was
basically there. I like music myself also, that’s why I was thrilled when they assigned me to write an article about music. For those who didn’t go for a live show (me) you didn’t get a nice fancy program which informed you of who was playing & what they were playing. Luckily for me Mr. Lipari was nice enough to give me a program. So be sure to be on date with your school band/orchestra so you won’t miss they’re amazing shows.
