The Winter Choir concert was held on December 11, 2011. This was present in Joliet Central High School’s
auditorium where it made a splendid appearance. It lasted about 2 hours long filled with Christmas songs and performances. In the beginning of this they started off with the mixed choir with heavenly verses that well fitted the theme of this event. As well as a blend of culture that was presented with the
beat within the singing of “African Noel”. Shortly after the mixed choir was done with their singing, the audience was invited to join in with the singing too, as the director said. Many joined in with the singing; almost everyone that was there. In the heartbeat after all of that the treble choir made its
debut. The atmosphere all the singing voices brought was a harmony to everyone’s hearts. There were also two solos sung by Alfred Mcgee and Andrea Meza.During this concert, some unplanned things happened during the choir performances. It wasn’t stated on the sheet, and was surely a surprise to many. The director on stage asked children to come in front of the stage and asked them ‘what is gravity?’ Well
that question made a performance as a song to defy gravity with Show Choir presenting it to the crowd themselves. And what an extravagant job they did with that! At the end nearly all the choirs had sang their songs of joy and harmony within the presence of god himself. That was surely a delight to lift some of the spirits that came and acted in the civilized manner we would all expect in any event. And last but not least the tradition the choirs have brought upon themselves to do to their director,
an original pie in the face moment! Winter Choir brought laughs and memories upon itself to those that have seen it. Such a wonderful sight to whoever came, and a great thanks to all that put this event together!
