The Chicago Cubs are looking like a championship squad this year. They’re also one of the youngest teams in the league. The Cubs are having a fantastic season and have already clinched their playoff spot. The Cubs are also the only team to have its entire infield start in the all-star game. Players such as Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, Addison Russell, and Kris Bryant got invited to the All-Star game. The Cubs are also the 1^st seed in the National League and the whole MLB League. They’re easily winning the crosstown classic against their bitter rivals, The White Sox. The Cubs started out with a great win against the 4^th seed in the league the Pittsburgh Pirates and the 1^st seed in the league the St. Louis Cardinals. Then the Cubs made it to the League Championship Series Vs the New York Mets where they got swept. This was a heartbreaking loss for the Cubs but they were the last seed in the playoffs. This year they’re better than ever, as they are closing in on 100 wins, 17 games ahead of the last year’s Cardinals. With Experience this year, this should definitely be easier than last year’s playoffs. The Cubs also get a first round bye if they stay where they are in the standings. The Cubs are on the easier end of bracket this year unlike last year. The Cubs are heavy favorites to win the world series. From here on out the Cubs should only get better with their experience and most of their players not even being in their primes yet. The Cubs have a very bright future.
