The horror movie ‘Malignant’ directed by James Wan, is one of a kind. Horror addicts all around the world would agree that this is a movie like no other. Malignant follows the life of a woman named Madison who struggled with infertility, or so we thought. Later on in the movie, you watch her get tormented in her “dreams” by an evil entity that may or may not be her imaginary childhood friend. Malignant isn’t particularly scary, but it takes risks and gives thrill. James Wan has made other popular horror movies, including The Conjuring series. Malignant is a different type of movie compared to The Conjuring. The Conjuring tells the stories of ghostly encounters whereas Malignant is different by bringing dreams into a nightmare without the use of any ghost encounters. Some critics have said, “There’s a hodge-podge of ideas going on that don’t always seamlessly fit, but Wan’s homage to ’80s horror and Wallis’s fretful performance, has a bloody lot of guts.” Another critic said, “Told in a narrative design that upends as much as it does stall for answers, Malignant takes its time with clarity and then explodes into what I can only describe as the right kind of outrageousness.” Worldwide, Malignant made almost $40,000,000 at the box office. Rotten Tomatoes gives Malignant a 76% on the tomatometer. All in all, if you’re a horror fan, Malignant is definitely a movie you need to plan on watching.
