‘You’ Season 3 Review

‘You’ Season 3 Review

Melissa Marasco

The psychological thriller ‘You’ first hit Netflix in 2018. Following the books written by Caroline Kepnes, it follows Joe Goldberg, a part time bookstore employee and a full time serial killer. The second season introduced his main love interest, and then it is revealed that they are having a child together. This season brings about the storyline of Joe and Love after they have their baby and what is supposed to be their ‘fresh start’.

Now season one of ‘You’ was focused on one predator, Joe. Season 2 introduces another psychotic mind with a whole new level of disturbance. Season 3 packs more and more onto the start of what is unveiled is season 2. The predator becomes the prey, the hunters become the hunted. We see their definition of survival and keeping their son safe, and how they will stop at nothing to do so.

In the most action and murder packed season, we see further and further into the trenches of the main characters twisted minds. We learn more about their past and what drives them into the people that they are now. ‘You’ season 3 delves into the minds of the watchers to pull out their deepest fears. Full of plot twists and twisted horror this is by far the best season Netflix has released for this show. The acting, the emotions, the plot line, every part of season 3 was astounding. Happy family, fresh start, and murder in the suburbs, what could be better than that for their newborn son?
