Hello, Steelmen! It’s March and I’m sure you all know March 17th is. It’s St. Patrick’s Day. St. Pat’s Day is generally an Irish holiday. Green, leprechauns, pots of gold, all that fun stuff. If you have Irish in your family like I do, this holiday is a really nice day to celebrate your heritage. “The Day of The Festival of Patrick” is a religious and cultural holiday named after Saint Patrick. Saint Patrick is the most common Patron of Saints of Ireland. This day particularly celebrates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. My mom’s side of my family is Irish, so we celebrate this holiday every year. A common dish for St. Patrick’s Day dinner is corned beef and cabbage. Even if you’re not Irish, this holiday can be celebrated by anyone. Many people dress up in green or paint clovers or pots of gold on their faces for fun. If your family is not Irish and you would like to experience an Irish dinner ask your parents to order the corned beef and cabbage on this day, watch movies based on leprechauns, or go to a friend’s house who is Irish and join in the fun! This day is a cultural, festive holiday that is a nice celebration for Irish families like my own or anyone having a little holiday fun on the 17th.
