Hello Steelmen! Today’s topic is something everyone can relate to at one point during their high school career, senioritis. Senioritis is the feeling of giving up, or putting yourself in the mindset that, ‘I’m already graduating, I’ve been accepted into college, so the rest of my senior year does not matter.’ Well, if you’ve slipped into the laziness of the last 3 months of school, believe it or not senioritis can really ruin you. I’ve seen close friends of mine go straight down the drain coming into senior year because they don’t care to try anymore, thinking they have senior year and their future set. Whether you’re a 4.0 student or you’ve struggled through the last 3 years to get to where you are today, senioritis can effect anyone. Getting to your senior year in high school really is a big deal. Senior year means prom, senior banquet, saying your last goodbyes to high school teachers and some friends, and most importantly graduation. Just because you’ve already made it this far does not mean you should just give up now. Dealing with senioritis is like dealing with any tough time. Tough times need to be taken day by day, and have to be dealt with through perseverance. Telling yourself you can get through senior year and move on to bigger and better things can be a good first step in getting yourself out of the slump of senior year.
