This year’s Blood Drive was extremely successful. We had a total of 225 pints of blood. The goal this year was to have 250. We were so close! We might have been able to reach our goal if those 70 kids weren’t turned away for various reasons including: veins not being found, not weighing enough, and having left the country. DRINK MORE WATER PEOPLE! You may have heard that this year is Ms. Korelc’s last year. She was determined to make it her best. She’s been running this blood drive for 14 years and teaching for 35. Senior, Gabriel Gonzalez said “I had a fun time at the blood drive. It really means a lot knowing that our school could help out in our community for those in need. Knowing that I saved a life made my day. And who doesn’t like the pajama pants they hand out!?” And Gabriel’s right! Who doesn’t like the feeling of helping out? There were so many kids that the hallway where the line was was completely full. The wait was long and nerve racking if it was your first time donating. Speaking of first timers this was my first time! I’m also glad to have helped and hopefully there will be another one soon!
