Students’ biggest fear: parents talking to their teachers. Joliet Central’s Open House will be held on Tuesday, September 13. The open house consists of parents going to their child’s classes and taking a little time to talk to the teachers, they also get to walk around the whole school and see what goes on in each one of the classes. This is a perfect time for parents to ask teachers questions. Besides finding out things about the teachers and classes, parents could also ask them for advice in helping their kids improve or talk about any concerns that they might have. Not only, will the parents be able to get information from the classes, they will also be able to get information from the hallways! Mr. Piazza’s AP US History classes will have a “Wax Museum” going on in the hallways. In this, the students will dress up and talk about a historical figure, we encourage you to bring any younger family members so they can learn a little bit about some of the people that have made an impact on the US. Students, if you’re trying to avoid a teacher, distract your parents at the “Wax Museum”, that should keep them busy for a while. If your teacher is offering extra credit to go see him/her, don’t hesitate to go! Even though students don’t really like it when our parents have conversations with our teachers, we have to admit that it is helpful for all of us, it even helps students see sides of the teachers they hadn’t seen before. Hope to see you there!
