Joliet Central’s Boys Wrestling team won a total of six games throughout their season. During their game against Bloom, the Wrestling team won 60 to 24. Against Metea Valley, the Joliet Central’s Boys Wrestling team won with a score of 39 to 31. The game with Joliet Catholic Joliet Central left them in the dust with a final score of 68 to 3. This season’s team may have lost some games but when they won, Joliet Central showed no mercy. Also Joliet Central had two regional champions, they were: Travon Zabala, and Carlos Garcia. Carlos Garcia and Travon Zabala also were the two wrestlers from Joliet Central who qualified for sectionals. During sectionals the Joliet Central Boys Wrestling team received 6th place out of 11 teams. These two qualified to go to state as well. This season at state, Carlos Garcia and Travon Zabala placed real high. Carlos Garcia placed an impressive third place. Travon Zabala also did an outstanding job, at state he placed second place. This season, the team impressed much. With a total of 6 wins, two wrestlers, Carlos Garcia and Travon Zabala, placing third and second at state, it has been a successful season. Everyone has high hopes for next years wrestlers.
