Tua Trouble in the NFL

Recently there has been a dispute in the NFL about the concussion protocol. On September 25, in a game between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills, the Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagoviola was sacked. He was very dizzy and couldn’t keep his balance so the Dolphins staff took him out of the game to evaluate him for a concussion. Later into the game the staff put Tua back into the game and he finished playing somewhat normally.

Then on Thursday September 29, it was Primetime Thursday night Football. Dolphins vs. Bengals. Tua was playing as he normally would. There was about 6 minutes left in the second quarter, the score was 6 to 7 with the Bengals leading. Then, on second down and seven, the Dolphins were attempting to pass the ball, when Tua was sacked again. He was furiously swung around before being slammed to the ground head-first. Instead of shaking it off and getting back up he remained on the ground with his fingers stuck up in different positions. The training staff immediately ran onto the field and assisted him. He was carted off the field and taken to a hospital where they came to the conclusion that his concussion had worsened.

In the later weeks while Tua Tagoviola underwent tests, and physical therapy the NFL was given a lot of criticism. Neuroscientist Chris Nowinski barraged the Miami Dolphins training staff. Nowinski claims that Tua Tagovailoa will never be the same, and that he will have permanent brain damage.

This is a very big problem, Tua Tagovailoa, the face of the Miami Dolphins Franchise, is afflicted with a terrible injury. The NFL is getting backlash. All because of some bad judgment.
