Time changes a lot of things, one being technology. Everything gets advanced and more “high tech” as some people call it. Some examples are like going from the flip phones in 2000 to smart phones in 2012. In twelve years we’ve discovered how to make phones better for enjoyment and have better reception and so much more.
Another example of how technology has increased throughout the years is our smart phones that do everything for you compared, to the big “brick phones. The first cellular phone was made in 1983; it weighed 2 pounds, was over a foot long, and could only store 30 phone numbers. The phone was made by Motorola and was priced around $3559. If you compare the phones that we used to have to the phones we have now, we’ve come a long way. The newest phone that everyone is dying to get is the Samsung Galaxy S III. This phone weighs 133grams, costs $200 with a contract and the battery life lasts up to 8 hours. The technology has definitely increased as time progressed.
Another device that has advanced is televisions. No one really pays attention to how much technology improved, think about when the first TV came out in the 1920’s. The first television was cheap and could be bought for $13 up to $80 depending on the type. They were mechanical rather than electric, had to have an antenna, and the only colors that you could see were black and white. Nowadays we have plasma screen televisions, not only is the picture made up of tiny plasma cells but the screen is huge. The colors of TV’s went from black and white to high definition in color. High definition is highest quality there is as of right now.
There have been a lot of modifications to the new devices making them more enjoyable for people. Before people complain about how the new technology “sucks” and “needs to be better” they should think of how far technology has actually come. If you do your research and look up the stats you will realize just how much we have.
