“So don’t wait for the world to get
better. You’re going to waste the time you have, and you won’t get it back. When
you fall, when you break, when you wish you didn’t feel – keep your head, don’t
forget, it’s the pain that makes us real. I know most of the time it’s hard to
keep in mind, from lessons learned comes better life”. This is a part of the
song Better Life by Conditions, which
was the Snowball theme song this year. This specific part really hit home for
me. I don’t think that there could have been a better song for the “T.R.Y. (The
Real You)” theme for this year’s snowball.
I listened to this part of the song
multiple times that weekend, and it made me realize a lot about life. The first
sentence is basically saying, in my eyes, that the time you have in your life
is crucial and you can’t sit around and wait for others to approve. Then it goes on to say “when you fall, when
you break, when you wish you didn’t feel… keep your head, don’t forget, it’s
the pain that makes us real”. This is completely 100% true. I learned from this
statement that when you hit a rough spot in your life that you cannot just give
up, that you have to keep on going. It also taught me that the pain you feel on
a day to day basis is what makes you human, and if you stick through it in the
end you will just be stronger.
The last statement says, “I know
most of the time, it’s hard to keep in mind, from lessons learned comes better
life”. This just wraps it all together perfectly. It is saying that sometimes
while you are going through a hardship it is hard to remember that you will get
through it. Sometimes we forget that from lessons learned, there is a better
and happier life ahead for you.
Well, all in all, that song and
that weekend taught me that through all the hardships I will face in life I
just have to keep my head up, T.R.Y., and remember that there will be a better
life waiting for me at the end of my struggles.
I would like to personally thank Nina Gregor for doing such a fantastic
job choosing that song.
