Taylor Swift’s New Album

Aug 29, 2022, Taylor Swift announced her brand new album would be released on October 21. Taylor surprised what seemed like the whole world by telling her new album midnights would be released while receiving her new Video of the Year award. She described that on social media, “the story of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.” She also said it would be a collection of music written in the middle of the night. Swifties have been buzzing about maybe a new version of “1989” her breakthrough in 2014, since her hit song “Bad Blood” was used in Dwayne Johnson’s new movie “DC league of super pets.” At midnight on September 21, Swift introduced a new video series streaming on TikTok called Midnights of Mayhem. These videos are released at midnight (because of her new album Midnights) and would have hints from Taylor herself about her new album. Taylor used a lottery cage containing 13 ping-pong balls labeled one of the 13 songs in her album. Swift’s album broke several sales and streaming records within its release week. It took up all ten on the Billboard Hot 100, her tenth album is by far her biggest yet. Five years ago, Swift’s “Reputation” achieved the biggest-ever U.S sales week by traditional album sales with 1.216 million copies sold, her new album “Midnights” topped this record in just four days. In that album is her hit song “Anti-hero” which is ranked her number one song according to a recent poll taken on Billboard.com. Taylor says that this song is her favorite that she’s written (so far). “We all hate things about ourselves, and it’s all those aspects of the things we dislike about ourselves that make us stronger. So yeah, I like Anti-hero because it’s honest.” Taylor discusses this in an interview in her 3 am edition. On Good Morning America November 1 Taylor announced her first tour the Eras tour, which will be her first tour in almost six years. She also revealed her excitement about her long-time wish to tour. “It’s been a long time” She states “I can’t wait to see your gorgeous faces in 2023!”
