If you were to tell me in freshman year that I became an editor for the JTC Journal, I would’ve never believed you. It was the beginning of freshman year, I had no idea what I was doing, I was lost and a bit scared if I’m being honest. My last class of the day was journalism. Not only was I relieved but also intimidated by the people there, I thought it was going to be a difficult class, a stressful class, but it ended up being the opposite from what I originally thought.

The first few weeks of being in that class was a new experience to me, it was easy and I met some amazing people who I am now happily working with. My journey began the moment I became a sports editor. I got the opportunity to work with a lot of new people, learn new things from Mr. Martz and our lovely editors, and I was welcomed with a comforting and friendly atmosphere. Ever since then, I have enjoyed being part of the JTC Journal and have even ranked up to a higher position, being the news editor.

Writing has always been one of my main passions ever since I was little. However I do have many other passions besides writing, which are: listening to music, reading books, and watching movies. I enjoy listening to various genres of music but some of my favorite artists are Mazzy Star, Taylor Swift, Lana del rey, The smiths and Kendrick Lamar. My favorite TV series will be Gilmore Girls and Gossip Girls. Although this is a hard decision to make, my all time favorite book is My year of rest and relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh.

I am excited to see what this year will bring me, whether it is good or bad. I will continue to work hard and push forward to be in the position that I would like to be in soon. I am grateful to be given such a big opportunity to work with the people I enjoy being with and the privilege I am presented with and will forever be.
