As it’s getting colder outside it is becoming the time of the year where we have to say goodbye to our summer outfits and bring out our coats for the fall and winter time. Some fashion trends for this summer were mom shorts, crop tops, pastel colors, vibrant colors, biker shorts, front tie tops, flowy skirts , butterflies, even the y2k style that was mostly seen in the 2000’s has made a comeback. This style was shown in many chick flicks such as Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, Clueless etc. Sadly Illinois weather in the fall is pretty chilly so most of these trendy clothing items have to go back in the closet until next summer. In fall 2020 we see many new trends. Colors that are very popular at the moment are brown, burnt orange, army green, maroon, mustard yellow, nude tones and of course the basic white, black, and grey. It is sweater weather so knitted sweaters are in as well as flannels, hoodies and jackets. Some specific jackets that are trendy at the moment are teddy coats which are usually oversized fluffy jackets, Puffer jackets are also in trend, these jackets are oversized and obviously “puffy”. Turtle necks are great basics, recently they have been used as a layering base for crewnecks and to keep you warm! As for bottoms, shorts are a no-go with the colder weather but mom jeans made a comeback this year and have been said to replace skinny jeans. Cargo pants are always a fall favorite , as well as plaid pants. For shoes it is finally time to bring out the Ugg’s which are very popular during the colder months. Some shoes that have been really popular at the moment are all black Dr. Marten boots. These boots are perfect for any outfit and can be worn in a basic look or more dressy look as well.
