Fall Fest

Alma Silva-Davis and Nivaeyah Phillips

Tis’ the season as fall starts to approach and pumpkins begin to sprout! Fall is arguably the best time of the year with many festivities and fun activities to do. Fall Fest is one of the many events enjoyed by those in the community. Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm, the #1 pumpkin field in the US holds some of the best activities, games, food, and more! Previous Fall Fests have featured hayrides through the corn mazes along with walk-through corn mazes containing hints to help you reach the end. The challenge is quite difficult, but great relief is exhibited when you make it to the end of the corn maze. Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm has over 35 attractions, with many of the attractions being posed to children, though that doesn’t stop the fun for adults! The farm is home to one of the most famous and scariest haunted houses in the state. Statesville, an award-winning haunted house catered to those thirteen and over, occupies amazing FX, makeup skills, and decoration. It’s quite the attraction and it’ll surely ignite some fright in you. Fall isn’t the only time of the month that Siegel’s Pumpkin Farm has attractions. In the spring and summer seasons, they are open with garden centers that include plants, flowers, and shrubs. And the summer holds the best extra sweet corn. Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm has been around for as long as one can remember as it is a 4th generation-family farm, established in 1909. Siegel’s is even open to fundraising events, company picnics, group outings, and corporate events from June 1st through October. And after that, it’s time for Fall Fest!
