Quarantine Update

Quarantine Update

Beesan Salama

With all the madness going on in the world right now, we all have a lot to think about.  Living through a historic moment like this pandemic is something new to us which can be terrifying.  For obvious safety precautions, our country is on quarantine which involves schools being shut down. For many people school is a safe haven.  No matter how heavily the student body complains about school, now that it has been taken away from us we all realize how lucky we are to have something to miss.  Keeping us busy, seeing our friends, who for some people care more about them than their own family, and getting our education was something we never thought would be taken away due to a virus.  Yet here we all are, staying home and questioning our return. As a junior, I feel deeply sorry for all the upperclassmen who may not get to experience their senior year to the fullest. I am lucky to have another year ahead of me, but am also saddened that my time with my senior friends was cut short unexpectedly.  In this hard time I am beginning to realize how often things are taken for granted and how much these little things matter. I hope for normality to return as soon as possible.
