Band Concert

Andrea Becerril

On November 22th, our Central band hosted their November concert. Starting off the performances was the Symphonic Band. They open the show with an Irish tone called Kirkpatrick Fanfare. The band performed it beautifully, adding emphasis to certain parts that would scare the audience due to its expectancy. Next up, they play Carmina Burana Movements 3, 13, and 2. Movement 3 was a more gentle piece that would lead to a more dynamic-filled piece. As it went, the tempo would speed up and slow back down. Movement 13 started with a bold and deep sound to it. The tempo and dynamic grew as it reached the end of the movement. Lastly, the Symphonic Band performed a holiday tune, Dashing through the Snow, to add some holiday cheers. Before the Concert Band began both bands performed the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers that was conducted by our drum major Zander Cremer. The piece had a fun little tone that felt light hearted and cheerful. As the show went on, the Concert Band was next. They performed 4 pieces: House of the Rising Bells, The 3-Minute Nutcracker, Minka’s Sleigh Ride, and finally Polar Express. The Concert Band played more holiday tunes, which had jingles from other classics. The students put on a great show and ended with a peaceful, holiday piece that definitely wrapped up the evening. There was a good turn out of family and friends that came to support the students. The band students and Mr. Stinsen did a fantastic job after it being a while since their last concert.
