Pink Heals

Pink Heals

Holly Ramirez

October is national breast cancer awareness month, and many sports teams, clubs, and people show their support by wearing pink. The Joliet schools, West and Central campus, show their support by playing a volleyball game against each other every year. This all started mainly to dedicate the loss of Adisson, who died at a really young age. Our amazing volleyball girls sell Pink heals t-shirts and tickets. The amount of money they earn from it all goes to cancer organizations, and while doing so they are spreading awareness. This year the girls played at the West Campus. The bleachers were almost all full, and everybody was pumped. The girls played amazing, worked together as a team, and everybody had so much fun overall. Central might have lost this year’s game, but there was a lot more to gain. “We did good, but the team still needs a bit more to improve in” says one member on the team. The team and the coaches all appreciate those who attended and helped. They may have lost this year, but there is always next year! Let’s go steelmen!
