    Our Goal

The purposes of the newspaper are to report school news accurately, objectively, and fairly; to establish a way for students and staff to express opinions by providing a letter to the editor; and to provide information through editorials, news, features, and sports. School news will be the main focus. Community, national, or international news may be covered when it has a special significance or
    consequence for students.

    Joliet Central’s Spirit Week

Joliet Central High School’s Spirit Week is great! By participating in these fun dress-up themes each day, Steelmen show their school spirit! They could dress-up with friends or rock it solo.

Spirit week started Monday, October 2nd, and the theme was Adam Sandler Day. Students can showcase their admiration for the American comedian, Adam Sandler, by dressing up according to his iconic signature style that can only be described as comfortable.

Tuesday, October 3rd, was Decades Day! This was a fun concept where each grade level is assigned a decade’s style to dress like. Freshman and Sophomores’ outfits were influenced by the groovy and warm colors of the 70s. For Juniors and Seniors, they had the opportunity to travel back to the 2000s! Students can indulge in the Y2K style and the iconic flashy colors. The staff will dress back to the 90s. Feel free to bring back the combo of flannels and jeans along with the younger fashion that inspired the upcoming 2000s!

“On Wednesdays, we wear pink.”. Wednesday, October 4th, was Pink Out Day! Wear all the pink you have in your closet and style it any way you’d like!

Thursday, October 5th, was Country vs. Country Club. Steelmen were encouraged to wear any outfit inspired by either your country side, with some nice cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, or dress in your nicest, preppiest “members only” inspired clothes!

Finally, Friday, October 6th, Neon Color War!! This theme was again assigned to specific grade levels. Freshman, wore their brightest and best yellow neon clothes. Sophomores, wore orange, Juniors, wore purple, Seniors, wore blue and last but not least, staff, wore their brightest red clothes they owned!
