Held at Joliet Central High School was another successful year of the STEM fair for teachers and students! On April 8, 2025, located on the fourth floor cafeteria this year, students had the opportunity to view and learn about the science classes JCHS has to offer; as well as presentations and hands-on activities at their assigned tables for whoever attends to try.
This event is held annually by teachers and sponsors of the science classes. The science teachers take the day to spend time there and inform students about the program. SNHS (Science National Honors Society) and the AARGON research group also take time to help students and inform them of their groups/what they offer.
For the entirety of the day, science classes, teachers, and student volunteers take the time out of their day to visit the fair and learn about what science classes/electives are available. “The STEM fair is a great tradition JCHS holds. It is a very informative event and students have fun. I like the hands-on activities they provide or the attendees to do,” said Casandra Reyes, attendee and student volunteer.
Teachers and students liked attending the event and many, if not all, science teachers (and teachers in general) think it is a great event to hold. JCHS will continue this event every year, and hope that it stays a hit with the students. You can look forward to this event in the coming years at JCHS!
