On April 24, 2026, Joliet Central High School hosted the Spring Sports Pep Assembly. Celebrating their sport teams achievements as they show great progress with the finality of the school year.
To begin the event, JROTC was also able to perform at the beginning of the assembly to start the event off while students gathered in the main gym and took seats in certain sections according to their grade year. This arrangement helped show school spirit by asking the crowd to cheer and assist in games throughout the event. One game was the paper toss, where students were given stacks of paper which they crumpled and then threw to the front of the bleachers in their section. All aimed into a garbage bin to be collected and counted. Resulting in Juniors as the champions of the game. Another game was also the volleyball match with students against staff which starred as a great competitive match
Furthermore, there was an ongoing fundraiser made by Mu Alpha Theta. This fundraiser was made possible with the assistance of teachers signing up for a pie in the face competition. Keeping a box in the school where students would be able to donate money; counted for the top three participants with the most money.
Additionally, the event was proven a huge success in bringing students together to support the sport teams and their achievements made throughout the year. Moreover, Student Council President and NASC Scholar Jessica Martinez states, “The pep assembly was a complete success! This year we were awarded a 1,000 dollar grant to include student sections into the pep assembly to increase school spirit and pride.”
Moving Forward, Joliet Central hopes to plan many more engaging activities in which students can demonstrate their team spirit and support all sports teams for their efforts.
