Have you ever played baseball? Have you ever even thought about it? The Joliet Central baseball team was combined with Joliet West High School and then got split up in 2009. The baseball coach is a teacher from Joliet Central High School named Mr. Juarez. The official bracket for the 7th Annual WJOL Baseball Tournament has been released. Joliet Central will host Joliet West on March 16th at Silver Cross Field with the winner advancing to play Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox on March 30th. Matthew Hall, a junior infielder and pitcher, was inducted into the national mathematics honor society, Mu Alpha Theta. He was also recognized as an All-Conference Mathlete for the 2011-2012 school years at the induction ceremony. Matthew Hall was also voted President for the 2012-13 school years. Joshua Wojnarowski is a finalist for the ideal Joliet Central male student. Joshua was interviewed by staff, administration and community members for the honor of being named Mr. J. Winners will be announced at the Mr and Ms. J banquet scheduled in April. Welcome to year two of varsity baseball at Joliet Township – Central. We interviewed Tony Juarez, a 1982 graduate of Joliet Central. He has taught and coached for Joliet West, Joliet Central and the combined Joliet Township athletic teams since 1986. This will be his second tour as a head coach in baseball for District 204. He coached the Joliet Township program for six years, compiling a record of 109-89. The philosophy of the coaching staff at Joliet Central will be to instill in our players the importance of self-confidence and to apply some basic principles on and off the field.
