Boys Cross Country

The Boys Cross Country team began competition this year on August 22, with a conditioner at Providence Catholic High School. The team this year is led by senior George Zavala and Sophomore Jay Dworak. Zavala when asked about his complete senior year goals he kept it very simple. He responded with, “making it to state with my team, go to Homecoming, Prom, and attend the Powder Puff Game.” With high goals for his team he thought about what the conclusion of his high school cross country career would mean, and the things he would miss. He stated, “I will miss the team and friends. Zavala is still undecided with his college decision. Looking forward to next season Dworak is embracing his increased leadership role. He acknowledged, “It feels good, the team is good, and everyone is cool.” Being such a standout athlete, some of the motivations for Dworak remain to be, “winning and competition.” The Cross-Country team has the Southwest Prairie Conference Meet on Friday October 12, the meet will be at Channahon Park and will be hosted by Joliet West High School. The team will go up against teams such as: Joliet West, Minooka, Plainfield South.
