It is winter season again which means it is basketball season, the boys varsity basketball team will play their first game as a team on Monday, November 22nd at the WJOL tournament, against Providence Catholic at 8:30 PM, this is classified as a Thanksgiving tournament for all of the teams participating, the team itself will participate in other tournaments too such as, State Farm Holiday Classic tournament, during the week of December, which will be during  December 27-30th. They are also enrolled in the Wheaton Warrenville MLK Holiday Tournament, the team is looking forward to their upcoming season and games, I spoke with coach Thompson, coach for the varsity team, and he says “I am looking forward to all games this season above the rest, the players are looking forward to facing Joliet West” , there are also returning players returning for the 21-22 season, these players are: Josh Adim, Jarrell (Keyshawn) Smith, Anthony Lee, Brian Campbell Jr, Aiden Finch and Marquis Johnson. The star players for this season set to make an impact on the squad is newcomer Anthony Nava and returning senior, Joshua Adim. Coach Thompson is looking forward to this season and promises steelmen fans this team will give it their very best from start to finish, this team will focus on their goals of improving each week and winning. The boys are set to play their first season game against Plainfield East on Tuesday, November 30th away from home at 6:30. Their first home game of the season will be on Thursday, December 2nd at 6:30 pm against Plainfield South.
