I am a senior and a member of the Advanced Journalism & Production class. I am the Student Council President and an Anchor for the Steelmen News Network. These opportunities have driven me to join the newspaper because I am a firm believer that students should stay informed and one key way to do that is through the JTC Journal. This is meaningful to me because as a freshman, Joliet Central was a big school and the middle school I was coming from wasn’t as big and we only had 3 active clubs. This led me to joining clubs in my second semester where I was getting a feel of the different clubs and I ended up building a community. Although I couldn’t join many clubs, the JTC articles helped me stay informed on what other clubs and activities were planning, which inspired me to join. This is why my goal is to be able to expand the JTC Journal and news around our school.
