Winter Fashion

The low temperatures are here, and with that being said, staying warm and fashionable is always a trend that never goes out of style. When it comes to getting dressed for this cold season, you have two options: really go for it and put together a full look for this winter…or take the chic, way out. Different colored faux fur is considered a stylish piece, and a plus is no animals are harmed, while you are looking positively fabulous. If we are going to have plunging necklines as one of the biggest trends of the year, we definitely need to have the exact opposite for winter, since no type of top covers up more than a turtleneck. Both of these trends put together can make a well put together outfit, you can dress up or down with this look. Geometric shapes to lace designs, and warm tights are upping their game for Pre-Fall/Winter 2016-2017 from the runway and look books of Alexander Wang, Maison Margiela and Chanel. Yes, statement tights are back. The slits also come and go often as a fashion trend, sometimes to the side, sometimes on the thigh, sometimes in the middle, either front or back. The thigh high versions that range from mid-thigh up to the very top of it have been seen on the fall/winter runways. While the trend is generally for a single slit up the thigh, we have spotted some pieces where there are two, including a midi hemmed shirtdress. Superheroes have capes. The fashionistas of today rock both the capes and the ponchos and go out to save the fashion population. Since it will be way too chilly, layering the crop tops over shirts, tunics and dresses, transitioning the spring and summer look seamlessly into winter and making them one of the coolest trends. High waist pants have been making their comeback all year now and they seem to be perfect for the season. One thing to make a first prority (besides looking fab) is staying warm. No matter how many layers you have, it is still possible to stay away from frostbite and still look cute.
