Glass Onion– Quite the Great Thanksgiving Film

The film “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” is a successor of the Box Office, with the movie being known as a “sleeper-hit”, which is a form of entertainment that was initially unpopular upon release, but grew in popularity. Glass Onion scored an 8/10 from IMDb, an 81% rating from Metacritic, and a whopping 93% rating from Rotten Tomatoes, while the film within the same franchise, “Knives Out”, scored better from Rotten Tomatoes. It scored just 0.1% lower on IMDb. The way this movie has been released, however,  has puzzled many of those who were excited for this continuation of Rian Johnson’s marvelous twist-filled murder mystery. After only a seven-day theatrical release, Netflix has pulled the film from theaters and plans to release it to stream on December 23rd, 2022. The streaming site also bought the rights to stream the next “Knives Out” sequel, which together with “Glass Onion”, cost an astounding $469 million for the company. Many movie-goers were very confused after going to the theaters to see the movie, only for it to vanish days later. This was an ill-defined effort by the promotional team, for the one-week release wasn’t stated clearly among the general audience. Glass Onion has rated the worst Thanksgiving Weekend Box Office in about 30 years, including the two Thanksgivings during the pandemic.
