Everybody has skin, and it only makes sense to take care of it. There are many do’s and don’ts when it comes to skincare techniques, and here are just a few.

Do drink plenty of water. Our bodies are made of almost 65% water, so keeping yourself hydrated is extremely important to have healthy skin.

Don’t eat too unhealthy. This is another big thing that many people don’t think about when it comes to having clear skin. You are what you eat, so make sure what you’re eating is nutritious and nourishing.

Do wash your face daily. Your skin encounters millions of germs each day, so it’s a good habit to wash it all off at least once a day, if not more.

Don’t over-exfoliate. Exfoliation is good for clearing your face of any dead skin cells and unclogging your pores, but doing it too often can damage your skin over time and strip you of natural oils.

Do moisturize. Doing this after you wash your face is important, especially if you’re prone to having dry skin. If your skin is more so on the oily side, there’s plenty of oil-free moisturizers on the market as well.

Don’t change your skincare regime too much. Constantly using different products on your face can end up doing more harm than good, so it’s important to have a consistent routine.

Do use SPF/Sunscreen daily. No matter what kind of complexion you have, it’s always a good idea to protect your face from the harsh sun.

Don’t use a harsh alcohol based toner. Using some sort of toner on your skin after washing it can help clean out your pores, but one with alcohol in it can damage and dry out your skin over time.

Do use face masks. These aren’t exactly a necessity for clear and healthy skin, but they do help give your face an extra boost. There’s many different types of face masks, so make sure that the one you’re choosing is right for your skin type.
